Cue Card Sample Answer Topic 2 – Modal 1

Introduction

It is not uncommon to witness people arguing when their ideas and beliefs do not coincide. It sparks debate even on minor issues.

When it happened?

Let me share an example of a heated argument between two of my friends while we were working on a group project.

What it was about?

Actually, when I was in 10th grade, we had to work on a group project as part of our film assessment.

We four friends had one week to work on a science topic of our choice and complete it. We had to create a working model to demonstrate how to write an analytical report and present it on the specified date. Because there was too much work to manage and distribute equally, two members of our team began arguing with each other.

They were unwilling to accept each other’s suggestion for the assignment topic. Both were convinced that they were correct and that the other was incorrect. In fact, they began accusing and blaming one another for being on the same team. Soon after, the verbal brawl escalated into a physical brawl, and my other friend and I stepped in.

How it was solved?

We stopped them and told them that if we didn’t work together, we wouldn’t be able to finish the job on time. In fact, we rejected both of their ideas because they were extremely time-consuming. We sat in the canteen arm and ordered cold beverages.

How you felt about it?

Once my friends had calmed down, we asked them to stop feeling sorry for each other and to get back to work. Though it was difficult to persuade them, they eventually agreed, and we were all relieved.

Conclusion

Overall, it was the time when my friends had a heated debate.
